SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAM Alert of Befiler
So I really had bad experience with them, just sharing my experience with them,
I registered with Befiler on 22nd May 2025 via their online portal to file my income tax return. I urgently needed to become a filer due to an upcoming property transaction. A sales rep contacted me and informed me the process would take 4–5 business days. I politely asked if it could be expedited; she refused unless I paid extra. Fair enough — I agreed to go with the standard timeline.
She told me a lawyer would be in touch. But by the next afternoon (23rd May), still no contact. I messaged at 1:02 PM asking for a status update. No response until Monday morning (26th May).
Meanwhile, I filed my father’s return using another consultant. He charged just PKR 1,000, finished the process within an hour, and my father’s status became active on FBR in 3–4 hours.
Compare that with Befiler, who charged PKR 3,000 + 1,000 for challan, and hadn’t even started my return in that time.
When I gently followed up, instead of helping, the Befiler rep sent me long, defensive voice notes. On top of that, I was contacted by three different people from their team — none of whom identified their roles or coordinated with each other. Total chaos.
By Wednesday (29th May), I was done waiting. I decided to file the return myself (I’m a zero-income filer living abroad). I paid the challan at 10:00 AM, and immediately informed Befiler not to proceed any further.
But here’s where it gets absurd:
At 4:28 PM, the Befiler rep shared a PDF confirming that my FBR filer status was updated.
At 4:30 PM, they went ahead and paid the challan anyway, even though my status had already been updated two minutes earlier — based on the challan I paid six hours ago.
Yet, the rep claimed that their challan worked, not mine. Let that sink in.
Even worse — she had previously said that it takes 8–12 hours for FBR to reflect a challan. So by her own logic, their challan couldn’t have possibly taken effect in 2 minutes — unless they asked FBR to time-travel.
They paid the challan redundantly, after my status was updated, just to save face. When confronted with facts, they continued gaslighting me with contradictory and illogical claims.
I ended up spending PKR 4,000 on a service I didn’t even use — and had to do it myself anyway.
Befiler is disorganized, unprofessional, and unwilling to take responsibility. If you value your time, money, and sanity, look elsewhere. There are far better and faster tax consultants available.
